Tim Birtch
Tim began taking private trumpet lessons at the age of 9. As his mother was a Church Organist and Choir Director, he began playing in church services at the age of 11 and continues to enjoy doing so to this day.
He went on to study with Stephen Chenette (Principal Trumpet Denver Symphony, Boston Pops & Minnesota Orchestra) and Barton Woomert (Associate Principal Trumpet of the Toronto Symphony, Principal Trumpet Hamilton Philharmonic) at the University of Toronto in the Bachelor of Performance in Trumpet program.
Tim was particularly happy to be honoured by being named the winner of the Whitchurch-Stouffville, Music Town, Ontario award in June 2017, for his contribution to the Community’s Musical Heritage, as he enjoys playing and sharing music in his hometown!
Tim plays with various groups in and around the Greater Toronto Area and especially enjoys working with his longtime friend and fellow trumpeter Margaret Wolf!
